A very serene Duncraig railway station looking over the water to the village of Plockton in the Scottish Highlands. The end of a beautiful summer’s evening with the sun setting with an orange glow in the sky. The station itself is a request stop on the railway line between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh, where to board a passing train, you simply stick out your arm to wave it down as you might a taxi.

I did it twice in the '70 s´, the triangle Glasgow>Isle Of Skye> Kyle of Lochalsh > Inverness> Edinburgh. I worked 2 years at King's Cross and Euston in catering. Low pay, but almost free travel. On the continent 29 yrs working on West Europe long- distance trains in bar/restaurant. With my wife many holidays all over the UK. Scotland the last 2 years in the Speyside region.
Not the Inverness-train again, but still on the list !
