At the top of Sutton Bank, near Thirsk in North Yorkshire, there is a walk along the west-facing escarpment with views across the Vale of York and over to the Pennines.
The author James Herriot famously described the vista from here as "the finest in England!"
Far off on the horizon, if it is clear enough, you should have little trouble in spotting the cooling towers of the Drax Power Station complex near Selby, roughly halfway between Leeds and Hull.
The poet William Wordsworth (the chap who loved wandering lonely as a cloud) and his wife Mary walked to the Sutton Bank clifftop on their wedding day in October 1802 and was so inspired by the view he wrote a sonnet.
Oddly enough, his lines make no reference to the Drax Power Station!
