A rare triple-flowered Heart-lipped Spider Orchid found at Anglesea (VIC) yesterday. They normally have 1-2 flowers.

Orchid season is really getting underway now - I found five new-to-me orchids yesterday, including two spider orchids (to be posted later).

I am sure my enthusiasm will continue until I encounter my first snake of the season.



A spider orchid with long pink sepals and petals drooping as well as one erect one behind the hood. The labellum is a triabgular heart-shape, with many small dark calli (bumps) on its surface. This is a rare triple-headed specimen.

It sounds like you're having a great time exploring and discovering new orchids, including those spider orchids you mentioned. The change in seasons can really bring out a variety of plant life.
