Years ago, when a friend and I were in the process of buying equipment for our studio, we were hoping to be able to buy lights and accessories from the 'good brands' one day. However, that was way too expensive at the time. We ended up buying lots of great stuff from a Korean company which sadly went out of business. At the time, we were wrinkling our noses at the offerings of Chinese manufacturers. 1/2
Today, I would happily equip an entire studio with Godox stuff for less than what Hedler or Multiblitz ask for a replacement lamp. Their products work really well and have excellent design. And now they also seem to have mastered packaging: It feels as if I bought some expensive jewelry, or a gadget from a company that produces in Asia, but prints 'designed in California' on the boxes... 2/2
