I’ve appear to have developed a soft spot for photographic oddballs. Here are the latest arrivals…

Minolta 110 Zoom SLR (1979)
Often regarded as the finest 110 SLR ever made, complete with a Rokkor zoom lens and genuine through-the-lens viewing.

It somehow manages to look both futuristic and retro — like a prop from a 1970s sci-fi film.

One of the most unusual SLRs ever made.

Sony Mavica MVC-FD75 (2001)
It’s noisy, slow, odd-looking and produces gloriously low-tech images by today’s digital standards.

Every photo is saved to a standard 3.5-inch 1.44MB floppy disk, accompanied by a chorus of whirring and bleeps.

And it has an 10x optical zoom plus an impressive macro setting.

Both set me back just £5 and £10. Now comes the fun part of finding out whether they still work and, if they do, what they can do.
