@nlnet@social.nlnet.nl I just got my new job, so not interested. but I am wondering, what is your stance on ai? (internal software in this case, but in general would be interesting as well)

if you have that on your page already, I am sorry. right now I am on a train ride. :)
anyway good luck on your search.!

@nlnet@social.nlnet.nl one suggestion, as a small org yourselves: rephrase the first bullet in your job post. “We’ll adjust based on experience” is a red flag these days.

You clearly know what experience level this role needs since the rest of the posting spells it out. Withholding a number (real or range) leaves room to lowball candidates after they’ve already sunk hours into interviews.

This doesn't quite match my plans right at the moment, but it certainly looks like a lot of fun.

Interesting role
but before going through the traditional hiring processes, NLnet could also consider bringing in a dedicated Squads team to support the Rust backend and its ongoing development & operations.
Instead of recruiting one person, with https://squads.com/teams you get access to a vetted team with the right expertise and can scale the team or bring in specialists as the needs evolve.
Happy to explore what that could look like for NLnet.

@nlnet@social.nlnet.nl That's definitely an interesting position. If it wouldn't require relocation to the Amsterdam region, I would immediately apply… even though I love Amsterdam, this is too high of a hurdle.

@nlnet@social.nlnet.nl Hi, is this role open to remote from India? I have been working in Rust since 2022, in blockchain tooling and HFT.

Which actual reasons are there to require physical presence?
