A wide, sandy beach rendered glassy by the retreating tide. A solitary figure mirrored in the surface of the beach sweeps with a metal detector in his right hand. Beyond him, contrasting the misty clouds created by surf, are perhaps a hundred figure doing beachy things, paddling, wading squatting and kneeling in the waves. They are dwarfed by the treasure hunter. And beyond them is a low backdrop comprising trees and the roofs of various buildings.
