a huge sunshade fills the picture, and dwarfs the sunflower under its shadow.. It is tilted away from the viewer, against the sun to give nore protection. The support frame seems black with a silver joint against the luminous fabric. There two blossoms of the sumflower are the only color of the picture, whch is not monchrome, despite appearance.
