A wide picture showing the entirety of the Norfolk and Western Railway No. 2156 steam locomotive and it's tender. The Class Y6a 2-8-8-2 steam locomotive was building in Roanoke, Virginia. It is the last surviving member of the Y6a class and has been at the National Museum of Transportation since 1959. It is regarded as one of the most efficient and powerful heavy freight steam locomotive designs ever built.
