One of the first ant species to be formally described, by Linneaus himself in 1758, is Formica fusca. I finally got a photograph of one last week in Frankfurt.

My ant lifelist is right around 55 species -- not too bad I suppose for an untraveled amateur living in a place with zero native ants. 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜
