City Giant. This is the largest hoverfly in the Netherlands and Belgium, with a length of up to 2.5 centimeters. It looks exactly like a dangerous European hornet or wasp, a survival strategy to deter enemies, but it is completely harmless. It cannot sting and lives peacefully on nectar and pollen.
