I’ve been a bit MIA from Mastodon for the last few days, but there’s a good reason. I bought a 1974 MGB GT V8 project from the father of a friend of mine. Aside from needing a good deal more work, there was a catch. The car was in Burnet, Texas. I live in Michigan.

So me, my friend, and another friend are on a mission to run down to Texas to retrieve Gerald the GT and bring him back to Michigan.

September 5, 2026. Burnet, Texas.

For those wondering about more detail details, it has an aluminum block Buick 215 V8 engine, Rover fuel injection, and a Mustang transmission and rear. It still needs a good deal of wiring, plumbing, and the entire interior to be done. When complete the engine should make more than twice as much power as the original.
