I want to publicly thank @dch@bsd.network
The FreeBSD port of littleFedi was already ready at release time, and it’s really well done.

One of the peculiarities of littleFedi is that it was developed and tested first on the BSDs, then on illumos, and only later on Linux.

The first public instance, my own @stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it account, runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero W with NetBSD.

I don’t think many social platforms have started out on NetBSD in recent years.

@stefano@bsd.cafe I had a look and saw that you don't use any libraries for the ActivityPub logic. As someone that works on such a library for Go, may I ask why? :goose_hacker:

The main implementation of the should run smoothly on any OS. , and are literally the "definition" of POSIX. Why they should not run on them? I'm genuinely puzzled! Can anyone enlighten me, please?

@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe @dch@bsd.network @stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it Developing and testing on the BSDs first isn't a peculiarity. It's awesome.
