Farewell Spit: Daniel Manchester volunteers as a certified drone operator for the Cetacean Ecology Research Group at Massey University. As people formed a human barrier to help prevent a mass stranding of pilot whales, Manchester beamed a live feed to experts for advice, tracked the movement of the whales, and filmed footage for research.
