My daughter started her senior year of high school this morning. Her school has an unofficial tradition where all of the seniors meet in front of the main campus building for a 'Senior Sunrise', then have a light breakfast before going to a 'Senior Experience' event. Real classes start tomorrow.
My daughter was a bit reluctant when I told her she'd need to leave the house before 5:30am to get to campus in time, which meant waking up even earlier. Being a sunrise junkie myself, I convinced her that for one morning, she could wake up super early and stand with her classmates and greet the sunrise for their final year together. "It's once in a lifetime", I told her, "Don't miss it!".
Heeding my advice, I decided that I would also get up, make sure she got going and then go to Buck Hill. And, wow! If this is an omen for the Class of 2027, then they are in for a spectacular year!
