Napoli - Interno della villa con veduta di Sant'Elmo

-Interno -Interior

https://fotografia.cultura.gov.it/iccd/item/FFC019248

The image depicts a historical postcard showing an urban park area with benches and lampposts. In the background, there's a prominent hilltop castle or fortress known as Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples, Italy. The trees are sparse, suggesting either early springtime or late autumn when leaves have not fully grown out or fallen off for winter respectively. The text on the image reads "Napoli - Interno della Villa con veduta di Sant'Elmo," which translates to "Naples - Interior of the villa with view of Castel Sant'Elmo." This indicates that this park is part of a villa and offers views of the famous castle. The postcard seems aged, as evidenced by its weathered edges and monochromatic tone. The inclusion of such an image suggests it's used for historical or cultural purposes to showcase Naples’ urban landscape from earlier times and perhaps celebrate landmarks like Castel Sant'Elmo which is a notable historic monument in the city.

The image displays a vintage postcard depicting an urban scene from Naples, Italy. The prominent feature is Piazza Plebiscito with its classical architecture and the presence of sculptures like "Santi Martino" on horseback statues which add to the historical ambiance. In the background stands Castel Sant'Elmo, perched atop Capodimonte Hill overlooking the city's terraced buildings that exhibit a mix of architectural styles. The sky above is partially clear with hints of clouds, suggesting it may be early morning or late afternoon when sunlight casts long shadows on the ground and highlights urban details. The street appears to have few people at this moment in time captured by the photograph, implying less activity during its era compared to contemporary times. This snapshot offers a glimpse into Naples' past, showcasing how streets were laid out with grand buildings, statues reflecting historical narratives or commemorative figures like Santi Martino, and public squares serving

NAPOLI - Veduta DEL PORTO MILITARE E CASTEL SANT'ELMO

https://fotografia.cultura.gov.it/iccd/item/FFC020414

The image is a sepia-toned photograph depicting the naval port of Naples, labeled "NAPOLI - Veduta del Portu Militare e 'Castel Sant'Elmo.' It shows several large ships and boats docked in calm waters. In the background, there's a hilly landscape with buildings that suggest an old city or town. The photograph has signs of wear, such as creases at the top corners and what appears to be a tear along the left edge. The text below the image indicates it is showing views from both military port areas and Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples. This historical photo captures a moment likely from the late 19th or early 20th century, judging by its style and quality of printing.
