#PhotoOfTheDay since I am dwelling on post vise restoration, this was the early stage of mocking up several pieces I had to cut and work from one inch steel bar stock to fabricate replacement parts for a post vise. I needed a couple of wedges and an entire vise spring which is a U-shaped piece of mild steel.

I kept and re-used the mounting piece (top right) from my 1st post vise since I already had it fitted to my mounting location.

#PhotoOfTheDay is the before-and-after of my post vise restoration. This was the second time I'd done one of these so I was a lot more familiar with what was needed this time around.

Farm fresh on the left as I got it, and after cleanup and long-overdue maintenance on the right. The after photo doesn't include the new spring and mounting pieces that I fabricated.

#PhotoOfTheDay is a "before" shot of many of the main mechanism components of my post vise, still in their "farm fresh" state showing perhaps a century of seasoning.

Happily, as you can see the thread were still in good condition, without excessive wear or degradation. And with a bit of sweat equity, everything cleaned up nicely.
