Beaufort, South Carolina
This palmetto probably started as a weed in a crack in the parking lot. Ignored for too long, until people got emotionally attached, even fond of it. Sort of grew on them. So now, still awkward, it is allowed to stay. Protected even.

Like me in relationships.

Half Moon, Atlantic Ocean

You never enjoy the world aright, till the sea itself floweth in your veins, till you are clothed with the heavens, and crowned with the stars.
—Thomas Traherne, c. 1670

Half moon over the ocean just after sunset, reflecting in wet sand. Rose and gold sky reflected in wet sand at the surf line. Dark silhouettes of people on the wet sand by the sea reflecting the colors of the sunset.

And what a wave must be.
