Color image of the former Quaker Square redevelopment, circa 1976, which turned former grain silos as the former Quaker Oats plan in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, USA into an indoor mall, commercial offices, restaurants and a Hilton hotel, circular rooms in the former silos. The complex was acquired by The University of Akron to use as event, classroom and temporary dormitory space while other buildings were being renovate and built on the main campus. The University vacated the property by 2022, and it was sold to private developers in 2025 who intend to redevelop the unique space. Image shows a view of round grain silos on the right with hotel rooms cut into them, a central stack of grain silos that were used for other purposes in the central tower, and a connecting space built for meeting spaces and events, with the blue sky above criss-crossed by jet contrails.
