Aztec Ruins (Structures) National Monument. (It has nothing to do with the Aztecs of Mexico. White people named it long ago & it stuck. It would more properly be called Chaco North or Middle San Juan Nat. Mon.) They held a Native fine art fair on the grounds today. And yes, this is where I moved to. The trailer park I'm in borders the Monument. If it weren't for trees I would be able to see this view from my front door!

A color landscape photo of an 800-year-old Native-America village. Modern Natives no longer occupy the structures but local Natives believe their ancestors still do, hence, out of respect we don't say they are ruins or abandoned. A short rock wall borders off an rectangular space in the foreground. Some desert shrubs are seen on the left. There's an open space and then the roofless structures made of local rocks shaped bricks. Open window spaces can be seen. Behind the structures is a dead tree in the center and scraggly cottonwood trees on either side. On the right is the side of restored round kiva. Round posts about three feet long are seen sticking out of the wall. The sky is filled with puffy white clouds.
