Roll 19717312, cont.: Riverside (1970)
Three characters.
One: A clerk in a record store. It's hard to describe the importance that LPs had for us. They were expensive ($3-4 apiece, which would be $30-40 now), and they were all we had (aside from radio) for music. We played them all day. Choosing the albums (which is what we called them, not "LPs") took a lot of thought, and the visit to the store was a big deal.

indeed. i used to save up part time job money and birthday/holiday money and i'd spend a couple of hours trying to pick what 3-4 albums i'd get. then i'd play them over and over for months.
