I took a few weeks off from running, while recovering from some back issues.
In the meantime, they've added speed limit signs on either side of this dam along the Rideau Canal. There is a locked gate on either end of the dam access trail, so I'm scratching my head about what problem has been solved. Has the scourge of Barrhaven road racing reached the village of Manotick?
Anyway, I kept my running pace under 20 km/hr, when crossing the dam.
@NuanceRhymesWithOrange@mstdn.social ebikes/escooters can easily do more than 20klicks but so can a manual bike and I'd guess this is a "recreational pathway". Mystery solved I think. Good on you to keep your running pace under 20 km/hr.
