@DorotheaLange@mastodon.ozioso.online these LLM image descriptions are awful and looking at the last three posts by this account, there's at least one significant error in every single one where the text directly contradicts the image. This is worse than nothing for accessibility: if you leave off alt text entirely, a user who needs it can fire up a text-to-image model themselves but they'll at least know they're using an unreliable model. By generating this text using unreliable means but not marking it as such, a user who relies on the alt text has no way of knowing it's unreliable.

At minimum, you should be labeling the alt text as AI-generated.
