Beneath a deep light blue sky streaked with a few clouds, we are standing alongside a pond. There is a patch of water grasses in front of us, turned golden brown with the end of the growing season. The branches of some leafless shrubs can be seen among the grasses. A dead tree stump with a V shaped top portion is to the left. The far shore has similar golden brown water grasses surrounded by a forest of mostly leafless trees. The leaves that remain are the brick reds and golden browns of past peak.
