A Canada goose mama leads her six goslings into the water for the first time - straight down. Soon after they hatch the goslings jump from their nest 25 feet above the water, but it's OK, they're supposed to do this and don't get hurt. I'm not sure which one is more adorable, the one doing a belly flop, the one going down sideways, or the one going down head first.
The photographs were taken by Jake Bonello at the Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for the Columbian White-Tailed Deer in southwestern Washington State.
