„SYCOPHANTIC“

Ein einsamer, abgenutzter Basketballkorb mit gelber Stange steht auf einem Asphaltplatz, der durch den massiven Zaun im Hintergrund und die Absperrbänder regelrecht „eingesperrt“ oder unbespielbar wirkt – ein Korb ohne Spielraum. Das harte Sonnenlicht wirft den markanten, langen Schatten des Korbes direkt in den Vordergrund auf den rissigen Boden. Visuell wirkt es, als würde sich der Korb in einer tiefen, unterwürfigen Verbeugung vor einer höheren Instanz niederwerfen. A lonely, worn basketball hoop with a yellow post stands on an asphalt court that looks literally "imprisoned" or unplayable due to the massive fence in the background and the barrier tapes – a hoop with no room to play. The harsh sunlight casts a prominent, long shadow of the hoop directly into the foreground of the cracked pavement. Visually, it appears as though the hoop is bowing down in a deep, submissive prostration before a higher authority.
