A close-up shot of a common moorhen swimming forwards through rippling, golden-brown water. The bird faces the camera directly, showing sleek charcoal-black plumage on its head and chest, a flash of white along its flanks, and an arched brown wing feather raised at the back. Its distinctive bright scarlet-red frontal shield and beak terminate in a vivid yellow tip, with small, alert reddish eyes catching the daylight amid concentric waves on the water’s surface.
