This color photograph captures the wall of an old wooden log house, turned into an impromptu exhibition of old, rusted objects. The upper part of the composition consists of even, gray-green logs with a horizontal shelf, on which lie a rusty padlock, a cartridge case, and an old rifle. The lower part is a dense pile of metal artifacts: a German helmet on a stick, rusty bayonets of shovels, crowbars, axes, and fragments of machinery and household items. On the left, a white metal can and a rusty sphere stand out. This entire heap is covered in deep, warm rust, contrasting with the cold wood. The image conveys a feeling of abandonment, memory, and the harsh beauty of bygone eras.
