It should be clear to everyone that a lot of money—a great deal of money—is at stake here. And that means power, too—a great deal of power.

And in an ultra-capitalist state like the U.S., everything must be subordinated to money and the pursuit of it. In a state where the sole focus is on amassing money and power, one would expect nothing less. Morality, humanity, and social achievements such as affordable health insurance or free education have, logically enough, fallen by the wayside.

Maybe these EU politicians simply don't talk enough with regular citizens to know how much we hate "AI"? Maybe they genuinely believe they're doing something awesome with @digitaleu@ec.social-network.europa.eu.

• was fired from a previous job for not using "AI" or not using enough "tokens"
• is miserable in her/his current job and hates every single workday of her/his life because they are forced to use "AI" against their will in order to not lose her/his job

Maybe @HennaVirkkunen@ec.social-network.europa.eu genuinely does not know this? Because the EU politicians only ever talk with CEOs and venture capitalists (who obviously all make the most grandiose claims about how great "AI" is), never with regular citizens affected negatively by this?

We Mastodon users do not want "AI". We hate "AI". It costs us our jobs, it destroys our environment, and it enriches Nazis.

I wouldn't be surprised if @HennaVirkkunen@ec.social-network.europa.eu never heard this outside of Mastodon before. On X, LinkedIn and Bluesky they are of course all big fans of "AI" slop.

@davidculley@hachyderm.io Of course they do! Nazis are among the most important customers as they need AI. Leftist are typically more sceptical about AI, as the are aware on its impact on human and labour rights, and climate - all things the left cares dearly about.

Nazis need it for disinformation, flooding the zone, and - to be frank - replace their dumb and incapacitated brains that not able to articulate even one coherent sentence.
