A #ThrowbackThursday to just ten years ago, the first time we ever cruised in the Mediterranean. We hit a lot of ancient sites on that trip because there are a lot of them about and this photo from Mykonos was taken after exploring ruins on the nearby island of Delos.

A minimalist shot in portrait orientation, broadly featuring just two colours. It's a hot, bright, sunny day with not a cloud in the piercing blue sky that brightens to a white-blue glow near the top left, close to where the sun is throwing a few lens flares into the scene. The bottom of the image contains a building, typical of Greek islands with its thick walls plastered and painted white. The building is a rough-contoured wall at the back of a small church with a set of steps up to a flat area that leads to a doorway barely visible behind another wall in front. Two young women are standing on the flat surface, one mostly behind a wall but clearly posing for her friend who's aiming a point-and-click camera at her. The wall of the church is about twice the woman's height where she's standing but it rises up twice that to a small niche that opens up and appears to hold a bell within its space.
