Now the collab is with termites. They had tunneled the handle of an abandoned shovel (and left long before I found it), so I sliced it to reveal the structure.

I still haven't figured out how to display it.

Five polished brass discs standing in line on a white surface, they appear diagonally in the shallow focus photo, their shadows are textured with the light reflected by the brass.

Each disc is a barely circular slice of the original, perfectly cylindrical wood, revealing the termite tunnels that crossed them as irregular holes.

Photo of the same arrangement from another perspective, showing details that couldn't be seen on the previous pic. Also diagonal, the first disc is in focus and lower to the left, the others follow a straight line up and to the right, moving out of focus.
