It was interesting to visit, mainly for the #bunkers and the lovely #views. I actually prefer to see castles from outside rather than inside.

Phone quality sadly, as for a while I wasn't taking camera around, for reasons. It was also most convenient for my small, private IG.

I went down to the Kaymaklı underground city. It is an underground labyrinth built to protect refugees from enemies where thousands of people used to live. ​Once you are inside there is no turning back it is a one way route. I had to crawl in some places because it was very narrow and there were no stairs (Thanks to my Adidas Terrex I was able to walk and crawl without any problems) ​The real issue was claustrophobia(which I don't have anyway) many people couldn't even enter because of panic attacks. Some passages were only 70 to 60 cm high and even though I am very petite my shoulders were touching the walls. I could really feel the stones all around me, so you can imagine how narrow it was. Imagine the soldiers who got trapped there with muscular build and heavy armor, they probably all lost their way out. (I have a video of the crawl that I might share later though uploading videos here is a bit problem) Sometimes you get stuck inside just waiting for other people to move. I definitely do not recommend it to claustrophobic people. (We went down about 20 meters)

​I specifically wanted to go down there to test myself before my next trip to Egypt. My dad told me I couldn't enter the pyramids, so I went 20 meters underground to prove to myself that I could. And I did it 😏 At least now I am ready for Egypt it was a great warm up. This place was one of my favorite in there.

Another surprising fact is, the underground city was airier and felt much more spacious than above ground
