Difficult to just pick one view from Norway's fjords for this theme. From 2022, this is the gorgeous little town of Olden located where the mouth of the river Oldeelva (pictured) meets the Nordfjord (behind us).

It's a beautiful, clear, warm, sunny day, and we're within the fjordland area of Norway in the middle of summer, visiting a small town. We're standing on a low road bridge over a river where it joins a fjord around which the houses and businesses of this picturesque location have sprung up, and we're looking inland to where the mountains rise in the distance to either side of this split in the landscape. The water is flat and motionless, reflecting much of the surrounding scenery. It's wide beneath us, stretching beyond the left and right sides of view, but heads away, narrowing and curving around to the right out of sight behind a grassy bank of land dotted with bushes and trees at the water's edge. On the left side of the river there are half a dozen buildings, most low but one of them over three storeys high, or four if you count the window in the attic space. All the buildings are covered in white wooden slats, glowing against the greens and blues around, and all have tiling on the

From the archives (2022): This is the view down the Sørfjorden from Lofthus Camping, Norway. This fjord is a branch of the large Hardangerfjorden. It has an interesting microclimate, allowing the cultivation of orchards. The region is known for its cider so much that it even has cider vending machines filled with local produce.
