One of the things I really liked about Gamla Stan and medieval districts in general is how organically imperfect the buildings and streets are compared to modern development, where building façades are perfectly plumb (unless intentionally cantilevered) and virtually all other architectural and urban design components are engineered to have surfaces and edges that are precisely perpendicular or parallel to each other. Here, there's a beautiful undulation to all planes and lines.
