For #SchiffsSamstag this is West-Hinder II, one of three lightships that were used off the Belgian coast to mark banks for sea traffic between 1950 (when they were built) and 1994 (when they were replaced with platforms).

We're in front of a short stretch of dry, coarse land with some patches of dirt and short grass rising gently to a low white wall. Behind the wall there is a ship mounted on display, about forty metres long. The vessel has a red hull and white bridge structure about two thirds back with a red-and-white-hooped, cylindrical, beacon tower emerging from the bridge, topped with a grilled casing in which a a large lightbulb sits. The words "West-Hinder" are in bold white on the ship's hull. A thin, pale-coloured mast also sits forward of the bridge with a flared, basket-like cage near its top. There's a sky of cloud threatening rain with large patches of blue overhead and a few short, thin trees with light foliage are dotted around this rather industrial location.
