What have you people used to get away from Adobe Lightroom? This is about raw photos but also about properly managing a photo library.
I know about both Rawtherapee and Darktable. I've used both in the past but mostly for one-shot RAW conversion. I've seen that Darktable now has machine learning support (e.g. Segment Anything for masking) which is a plus. But are there other (not necessarily open source) apps for photo libraries? Like what Affinity is for Photoshop...?
Tried out #Digikam on Windows... it takes a while to open and I had to check the task manager to see that it's actually running. It starts with a setup wizard that asks me database-related questions. I know what Sqlite is but do other photographers? It highlights widgets whenever I move my mouse over them which makes any UI immediately feel fragile and dated I think. It thinks my 4TB USB disk is a USB stick and the import feature locks up because it wants to process thousands of photos.
👎 sorry
