South Tufa & Paoha Island, Mono Lake for

This is Mono Lake in California's Eastern Sierra, with the South Tufa area and Paoha Island, in warm evening light after a summer thunderstorm. The dark spot on the left is Negit Island (both islands are of volcanic nature).

A color landscape photo with multiple layers. In the immediate foreground, dry grasses and low-growing shrubs, then a band of strange rock formations and behind those, a large lake. An island of light grey volcanic rock forms the next layer and behind that, barren mountains in hazy light.
