question:
Do converters reduce quality a lot?

Vignetting, blurring, chromatic aberration? I'm kinda weak on this advanced.

I wonder if I should buy one. I already have an extension ring but attaching it is a bother.

Are converters sensitive to optics quality? Used cheapo or 3 times the price for the original MCON-P01?

Shame that there's no superzoom lens with macro in :P

@dcz@fosstodon.org there’s so many variables and interactions that it’s a matter of experiment I think. I’d prefer to go with proper glass rather than super cheap but it might not matter depending on exactly what you’re shooting.

@dcz@fosstodon.org a single proper close-up lens will not have a significant effect on image quality, but sometimes you need several and then you may well start to see an impact.

Another option is extension tubes which have no effect on quality, but they do tend to affect usability (autofocus, auto exposure) unless you get the expensive kind
