[ES] Ya pensaba que este año no iba a conseguir una foto buena de una limonera, con lo que me gustan a mí, ¡pero aquí está! Creo que es una hembra porque son más verdecitas, mientras que los machos son más amarillentos. ¿Habéis visto la espiritrompa? Dan ganas de ponerle una onomatopeya.

[EN] I was thinking I wasn't going to get a good photo of a common brimstone, but here it is! I think it is a female because it is pale green, while the males are more yellowish. Have you seen its proboscis? I feel like I want to add an onomatopoeia.

Una mariposa libando en una flor de zarzamora sobre un fondo verde oscuro. Está de perfil, mirando hacia la derecha, y tiene desplegada su larga espiritrompa, que sale de su rostro en dirección parallela a las antenas y luego se curva para dirigirse a la flor. La mariposa tiene las alas cerradas, por lo que solo se ve el reverso de las posteriores y un poquito del de las anteriores, siendo ambos de color verde pálido. Tiene sendos ocelos de color marrón pálido con el borde oscuro en el centro de las alas y manchas de colores ocráceos repartidas por los bordes, recordando a una hoja dañada. La sombra de las venas, iluminadas por arriba y proyectando sombra por debajo, aportan textura a las alas, así como las hileras de escamas que se aprecian en algunas partes. Las antenas y la parte superior de la cabeza son ocres, mientras que la inferior es amarillo pálido, al igual que el tórax y las patas.

nahaufnahme von kopf und thorax einer mittleren bis großen libelle auf einer hand. der thorax ist mit schwarzen säbel- oder grasblattförmigen streifen auf hellgelbem untergrund gemustert. die beiden sehr großen kugeligen facettenaugen stehen nach oben und seitlich etwas ab und sind hellgrün. der mund darunter ist grünlich-weiß und sieht aus als würde das tier grinsen. die fachwerkartig geäderten transparenten flügel und der lange dünne hinterleib passen nicht mehr ganz ins bild die ganze libelle von oben. die flügel wirken wegen ihrer hohen transparenz sehr zerbrechlich, sind es aber gar nicht, sondern erstaunlich stabil. jeder flügel hat einen schmalen rechteckigen schwarzen fleck entlang der vorderkante nah der flügelspitze. der stabförmig dünne lange hinterleib hat am vorderrand der segmente jeweils eine grüngelbe binde und davon zieht sich ein tropfen nach hinten in den schwarzen untergrund, manchmal ist der auch schon abgelöst. ganz am ende wird der hinterleib etwas dicker und trägt eine zange
