Every year we stay just round the corner from this building, and I suppose I do rather like it…
Will I be able to resist the temptation to photograph it in a few weeks’ time ?
The temptation was certainly much less
The building was on scaffolding for restoration, so my sense of wonder at its beauty was somewhat dampened...
A try from a slightly different angle, after all ...
This summer we were back in Italy and also spent about a week in Bologna.
It’s almost become an annual tradition.
And when I travel, I always take far too many cameras with me.
Especially now, at a time when I sometimes question the point of my analogue photography...
What for, and for whom ?
But on arriving in Bologna, I did end up rediscovering one of my oldest camera companions,
my Canon A1, loaded with a roll of Kodak 400 Ultramax
Mainly to see if I could find a bit of joy in taking photos just for the fun of it.
Something I did notice whilst wearing my A1 round my neck on walks around town... The camera is really heavy to have round your neck all the time!
And I haven’t mentioned it yet, but Bologna was absolutely sweltering in early August!
