A high-contrast black-and-white photograph of a tree trunk standing vertically in a dark woodland. The left side of the trunk is heavily covered in moss and vegetation, while a narrow section of smooth, pale bark catches strong sunlight near the centre. Shadows of ivy leaves and stems are sharply projected across the illuminated bark, creating dark, organic shapes that resemble silhouettes. Actual ivy leaves climb the lower part of the trunk beneath their shadows.
