210. Ghost Sign

🧠 Another one from the Scottie Dog trail. I wanted to frame this one with the arch.

⭐ I like the colours in the sign an how the surrounding tones work with it.

➡️ I wanted to include either the whole street sign or none of it. None of the cropping options worked so it's partly in.

🧠 This is another shot inside the Church of San Miguel Arcangel in Torremolinos.

⭐ It's cropped quite far in so the detail isn't great. I thought it looked a bit like a painting so I tried to lean into that with editing.

➡️ Instagram wouldn't let me post the full size - the frame is cut off at the top.

🧠 This was part of a displayprotesting against the closure of the Queen's Park Glasshouse, which has a Koi pond

⭐ I like the pops of colour in the ribbons making a messy frame for the sign.

🧠 I thought this derelict hotel was quite interesting and there just happened to be police speaking to people on the left-hand side.

🧠 A section of graffiti wall down at the Clyde.

⭐ I was able to push the colours really far because there was nothing 'real' in the picture to look unnatural.

➡️ I aligned it with the square around Spock but you see the sloping brick lines at the top.

🧠 This is inside the Church of San Miguel Arcangel in Torremolinos. I liked the Silhouette of St Michael through the window.

⭐ I think the black and white works well. There wasn't much colour in the original anyway.

➡️ Not sure about the composition. I wanted to include the painting below the window but not sure the blank walls down the sides work.

⭐ I like the composition - could've got further back with more of the dog in frame but I wanted to focus on the head.

🧠 This was in Torremolinos. I took loads of shots of this bird, trying to catch it in the light between the shadows of tables and chairs.

⭐ I like the detail on the bird.

🧠 I used a new zoom lens for this though I'm not sure it's capture the bird any better than my old one did in post 157.

⭐ I edited this one really carefully with masking to make the seagull stand out from the grey tiles.

195. Lighting Up

🧠 This is after then before editing. I thought the old street light was really interesting but a bit dull so I decided to edit the picture's light and colour to make it look like it was time for sun to start setting and street lights to start coming on.

⭐ I thing the background colouring works really well.

➡️ The fake light looks good at a glance but I think if you look longer it's obviously fake.

🧠 We passed by this place every day when we stayed in Torremolinos but they never had seats free outside when we wanted to try it.
