Adamaaru service pics: As in other mathas, the altar starts simple and progressively enriches. Last pic (not mine) is of the main idol "the 4-armed Krishna subduing the Kaalinga serpent".

Today, the 4th day of Shraawana month in the Hindu lunar calendar, is Naaga Chathurthi; tomorrow Naaga Panchami. Both days honor serpents (and snakes) with prayers made to the lord of serpents.🐍

In some traditions, women visit brothers on Panchami and get presents.🎁

A 4-part mandala drawn in white chalk on a rough concrete surface (which happens to be outside a home's entry gate connected to the sidewalk). At the top is a single mandala of flower petals. The next row has three parts. The middle part is a wheel in motion with six lotus petals at the wheels outer edge. On either side of this part are drawings of a pair of snakes. One snake in each pair is a bit smaller, presumably to indicate a young one.
