Altro...It turns out that not all bees on ivy flowers are ivy bees. But some are, at least around here. And aren't they pretty? Pic 1 is an ivy bee, pic 2 is a honey bee, both on ivy flowers.
Ivy bees were only identified as a species in 1993, and first seen in the UK just 25 years ago in 2001!. Today they were fairly easy for me to find locally, once I'd worked out that not all bees on ivy were ivy bees!
