A vertical close up photograph of a red wood ant, hanging from and entangled in a single strand of spider web. The ant has gotten one of its antennae and front legs entangled in the end of a spider silk strand that hangs down from a pine tree. The ant is in clear focus and in the right hand background is the out of focus trunk of the pine tree that the silk strand hangs down from.

The background on the left side, behind the ant, is a pale, bright green blur, almost mint green.
