A crow trying to turn a faucet and get a drink. Shukugawa Park, Nishinomiya, Japan.

A box-shaped concrete drinking fountain with a pipe sticking up in the middle and a knob for turning on the fountain. A large crow standing on the edge of the fountain, leaning over and trying to turn the knob with its beak. The crow is in the right half of the frame. Behind the fountain is a concrete walkway and the edge of some steps. On the left is a concrete wall. In the upper right corner of the frame is a fence, some grass or plants, and a few leaves on a branch.

They Come From The Sun

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkey_vulture

This is a black and white wildlife photo of the silhouette of a large bird in flight with multiple sunbeams radiating from the sun thats just behind the bird. Angel Island, California (2016). Above and to the left of centre is a Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) sometimes called a Buzzard or Turkey Buzzard. The camera is angled upwards into the sky with the bird being viewed from three metres away and filling half the height of the photo. The vulture's in flight from right to left with it's large wings outspread as it soars above a coastal hillside that is out of view below the base of the photo. The bird is deep in shadow with only the silhouette visible. The small head and individual feathers on the wing tips are conspicuous. Immediately behind the wings is the sun obscuring the tail feathers. Rather than a round orb, the sun appears as eight spokes of brilliant white light radiating from the centre with some of the spokes beginning to split into a narrow two pronged fork towards the

(G)old Growth (2026)

(Mountain sycamores (Acer pseudoplatanus) often look younger than they are and only give away their rough age via the extensive amount of mosses, lichen and other epiphytes accumulated on their bark. According to a local, this one is at least 180-200 years old...)

Photo of an old mountain sycamore tree against the sun on a late October afternoon. The last remaining leaves are glowing in rich bright yellow, and the thick layer of moss on the branches is creating a rim lighting effect. The tops of other colorful trees and some mountains in the background. Pale blue sky.

I went out to feed the birds this morning, turned around and found this guy looking at me.

A close-up portrait of a deer sitting on the ground, head turned and looking toward the camera. We only see the head, neck and sholders. He has large antlers. His fur is brown, but his face is more gray. His nose is black, and there is white fur around the nose and under the mouth and neck. The ears are turned backward. In the foreground there is a tree on the right. In the background are some leaves on grass, and a vegetable garden with some tomato and asparagus plants.

Loose Formation

(Details in the ) (Described By Human)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-tailed_eagle

This is a black and white wildlife photo in landscape format of three large white-tailed eagles soaring of a cliff face. Gjesværstappan Islands, Norway (2017). Other than part of the near vertical cliff face the image is filled with a clear and cloudless sky rendered a light grey. The cliff face starts a short distance below the top right corner and descends at a steep angle into the lower right corner of the photo. The cliff is made up of smooth rocks with tufts of long grass growing from cracks in the rock. A short distance from the cliff are the three White-Tailed Eagles (Haliaeetus albicilla), often called Sea Eagles. The first eagle is above centre and is viewed from below at a distance of ten metres. The bird is banking steeply towards the cliff, which is three metres away, with the large wings outspread and undersides in view. The outspread wings are swept forward forming a large 'C' shape. The bird is mainly black to dark grey, with lighter patches around the forward inboard s

Buzzards

This is a black and white wildlife photo in landscape format of a large bird soaring beside a hillside and searching for food. Angel Island, California (2017). In the foreground and blurred gently out of focus are numerous shrubs, assorted vegetation and a medium sized tree with dark leaves dominating the left third of the photo. To the right and slightly above centre in the image is our Turkey Vulture (Cathartes Aura) sometimes called a Turkey Buzzard or just Buzzard. The bird is soaring in the sea breeze that's blowing up the hillside allowing the bird to almost hover over an area of interest (breakfast). The bird is viewed in profile with only the left side and top surface in view. The camera is at the same level as the bird and is viewed from a few metres away (in reality much further away but the camera has a long lens in use). The vulture has an overall dark tone to the feathers, a large and wide wing with the feathers on the tips separating and angled upwards slightly (similar

Flowers are beautifully shining in this warm Roman October

@foto@diggita.com

Close-up of vibrant lantana flowers blooming on a terrace in Rome’s Torrino district, photographed on 17 October 2026. Dense clusters of tiny orange, yellow and red blossoms fill the foreground, surrounded by textured green leaves and unopened purple-pink flower buds. More colorful blooms fade into a softly blurred background, creating a lively composition of warm autumn colors.

Butterfly on a flower, Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens in Japan.

Brown butterfly with white spots on the wings, sitting on a small pink/purple flower. We can see the proboscis (thin black tube) extending from the face, curling down and into the flower. Two antennae extend from the head, thin with rounded ends. The eye is relatively large and dark. The flower has many small petals and is shaped like a round ball. In the background are several other similar flowers with blurry focus, as well as some blurry leaves and stems.
