Alas, it was still a fun experience, even if I had to shot these mostly blind and on a hurry during our night walk across a ruined town from the civil war.

The ominous ruins of an old church against a starry sky. Out of focus ruin bit, with a very starry sky behind it. On this one, the stars are sharp. Closeup of an old brick building in ruins dividing the frame in two diagonally. Many bright stars on the background. An ornate metal cross, illuminated by a lantern against the dark starry sky.

A slight detour for me today.

One of the problems with living in Scotland is that the sky doesn't get fully dark during the summer.
Last night was our first "proper" dark since May, so the telescope came out to play.

I concentrated on one area for about 45 minutes, knowing the Milky Way was in that part of the sky but not expecting to get very much from it.
Oh boy, was I wrong!

Zwo SeeStar S30 Pro, ISO 200, f/5, 2750 sec. Portrait image.

A portrait orientation colour photo of the night sky. The image is full of stars and diagonally from top left to bottom right is a close-up of part of the Milky Way. Top right and bottom left corners have been heavily edited to remove local light pollution.
