A common gull standing facing left on a sandy beach among seaweed covered stones. The bird has soft white and grey plumage, a yellow and green beak, black and white tail tips, and green legs. A bar-tailed godwit flying low above a beach with incoming waves behind. The bird is flying right, caught here with its wings low. Its main body is soft brown coloured and its wings grey and white. A great black-backed gull standing facing right in seawater between a sandy beach in front and a row of rocks behind and sea splashing beyond that. The bird has a white front and black back, black and white tipped tail, and yellow/orange beak. Looking across seawater to a sandy beach and green dunes with a white lighthouse at the right side. In the foreground are two strips of sand running horizontally in the sea. In the longest strip we can see, from left to right, about a dozen large black cormorant birds, including one in the air. In front of that, and to the right, a smaller strip of sand has about half a dozen smaller bar-tailed godwits standing on it.

Gebäudestruktur durch Gegenlicht aus Sicht des Deiches mit einem extra topping durch vier Wasservögel von links nach rechts darüber



Schwarzweiss-Foto des Gebäude-Ensembles Leuchtturm Westerhever am Rande der Halbinsel Eiderstedt in Schleswig-Holstein. Durch das Gegenlicht der Sonne erscheinen die Gebäude fast vollständig als Silhouetten. Vier Wasservögel fliegen gerade über dem linken Haus und dem Leuchturm darüber hinweg von links nach rechts.

I told you you'd be seeing again soon! Aled and I dropped friends at the ferry terminal very early this morning so we made a detour in time for before heading home. And I caught the beacon in full flow, too! ✨

A high-angle photo of the white South Stack Lighthouse at sunrise. The beacon at the top of the tower glows with a bright orange light. The lighthouse and buildings sits on a rocky, dark green outcropping surrounded by choppy dark blue waters. A narrow path with a stone wall winds down the cliff towards the lighthouse buildings. The sky is soft blue, pink, and purple with dark, clouds.
