When you’re old, all you want to do is stare at the scenery. It’s so strange. I’ve never felt so peaceful before.
Sophie, Howl’s Moving CastleYesterday, I had my driving lesson, which I did well. Better than I hoped, actually, but the day did start with some dizziness. It took several coffees to get me going.
But then we visited our friend and her baby boy. We walked along the promenade as the waves broke the sunset light on the shore. It was so beautiful. Such a peculiar color. I’ve never seen aquamarine so prominent in the water a few feet from us.
The sunset was the most beautiful one. The one that made me want to take up a brush and play with the canvas as an homage to the artistry in the sky.
Hours went by, and we didn’t even notice. We saw the day off and went home in the evening, still numb from the gentle but brisk wind.
I’m surrendering to silence more and more. All I want is to enjoy the scenery.
