From a few weeks ago, we had a lovely sunset, which was also being enjoyed by some ducks and loons. The loons were a bit more shy, but the ducks got fairly close and gave me a great silhouette.

Beneath a partly cloudy sky the sun is setting behind the leafless trees of a winter hardwood forest. A couple inches of fresh wet snow covers the ground and most of the tree branches, sticking to parts of the trunks. A thick underbrush of leafless shrubs is also coated with snow. A small stream with snow-coated rocks runs through the middle of the forest, emptying into a large snow-covered mostly frozen lake beyond the trees. The snow is tinted gold where touched by the rays of the setting sun.

Then walk a couple of km and meet, whoever is on duty at a spot along the fence. The guys have a table with drinks and snacks set up. The we DRIVE back, which is good.
